Three years ago most Americans said YES to the war in Iraq. Why has it changed? Why do most Americans want the war to end? How come we thought there was WMD?

Sadly most people dont believe in wrong or right. They beleive in their own interest. With cheap oil not happening, the world hating America and lives being lost Americans are thinking it all over again.

Maybe those pinko commie liberal bla bla blas were right and CNN and Fox were wrong after all???

bush said we would not like the war after a while. we no longer believe in the war because of the newspeople/vultures. they only tell the bad, and are great at leaving out all our accomplishments in the war. we have made great strides, and the insurgents are getting desperate. i heard there were WMD in iraq, but that was only circulating the news for about half a day. we thought/knew there was because we have things like the CIA and NSA.

The public finally understands we have no purpose for being in this country as we spend billions of dollars and lose countless life. In the meantime, Iraq has become a spawning ground for terrorism. We have in no way benefited from this horrific course of action we took. The American public is beginning to see that we were duped by Mr. Bush and his administration into a war which he had never justified a cause for. 9/11 was used as the justification for the war in Iraq. The American public at the time was still grieving, felt violated, and less secure. We needed someone to point the finger at and take to war to relieve those feelings. Al-qaeda has no borders, no leaders, no military, and therefore, no one to launch a full scale military campaign against to prove our might. Iraq happened to be in the region, raise suspicion, and be weak enough to overpower quickly. The restoration of the country was the element the Bush administration failed to evaluate thoroughly. They don’t understand the Middle East. It’s a complicated place.. Hence, here we are two years later with no progress and the American public is beginning to ask questions… I say we were duped by Mr. George W. Bush.

The bottom line is that the American public were brainwashed to believe that there were WMD in Iraq and if we don’t act now, they could retaliate against us. The main reason that we are over there is for the oil…and the oil only. Why now, do you think that the US is trying to threaten Russia?? Its all about the oil. Americans, I believe, want the war to end because too many people are getting killed and over what? The end of the war was supposed to result in lower prices of oil and the overall betterment of the economy. Yeah, right. Also, a lot of Republicans believed that Bush was cleaning up Clinton’s mess. That’s a joke. Bush just wanted to go to war because his daddy did and also to protect his family’s investments. He’s not concerned about the middle to lower class…he’s only concerned with making the rich richer and the poor poorer…You can definitely see a separation of the classes…enough said.

The people in favor of the war made the mistake of believing what they were spoon fed about WMD’s. They were told it would only last a few months. It’s called disillusionment. I was never in favor of that war. Why didn’t we concentrate all our energies toward capturing Bin Laden? HE’S the one who attacked us, not Saddam. Don’t get me wrong. I believe Saddam is evil, but we needed to keep our priorities straight.

Because of the misleading reporting put out by CNN and your newspaper.

A rather famous quote made by an officer in Iraq:
If all I knew about the war came from the news media - I would think we were losing too.

Below is a link that is a ‘dark humor’ joke that illustrates what people in the military think about how the news media is reporting the war:

Because we were lied to. After 9/11 everyone including myself was all.. KILL EM NOW!!!, INVADE!! I for one however did NOT want our country to invade a sovergn land! Bin Laden was in Afghanistan we invade Iraq as well as Afghanistan. I think the majority of Americans realize now why we went over there in the first place. The white house is full of oilmen. Get it? …A Military Wife
