Is CNN becoming more of a gossip news channel then a real news reporting station?

What is Spoofcard? It is a software system that allows outgoing callers to disguise their name, telephone number, voice and gender. It also allows the caller to record their telephone calls. In order to use Spoofcard you create an account very similar to long distance calling card plans or prepaid cell phone plans. The price of 60 minutes is $10.00 and customers may purchase up to 480 minutes for $80.00. Only credit cards are accepted by the site.
Customers are assigned a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access their account. First, they call into the Spoofcard telephone system, dial the number you are calling and then dial the number and name you wish to appear on the receiver’s caller id. Next the system asks if you wish to change your gender or record a message to be played for the telephone call. Users may also record their calls, to replay later.
Spoofcard and their affiliates claim that it is simply an entertainment tool, however they also claim that it provides a certain level of privacy from professionals such as doctors or lawyers who may find it necessary to contact patients or clients out of office hours. It is stated on their site that one of the many reasons for purchasing the software is to enable professionals such as these to protect their home and cell phone information, but allowing them to program their outgoing calls to indicate the office and office telephone number.
Another entertainment purpose is to create your own unique telephone number to announce who you are, similar in nature to having ring tones that indicate who is called. Nicknames may also appear on the caller id screen.
However critics of Spoofcard are worried. Received calls may be tricked into answering calls from “ex’s” or other individuals that they wish to avoid. We have all done it, screened our calls to determine if it is a good time to answer the phone or if it is someone who really want to talk to at that moment. Quite often even I ignore the phone after seeing the ID and deciding to return the call instead of answering it. Although prank calls have been and always will be a part of a teenager’s life with this system pranks may go too far causing immense fear, costs and police resources, such as in the prank interview by Paul Zahn of CNN news. Millions of telephone customers pay and additional fee for Caller ID, and now that protection is not available to the consumer at either their home or cell phone.

As we know, our U.S. government is almost broke due to the mismanaging of taxpayers monies and thanks to our U.S. top administrators who have spent billions of dollars in projects that never worked.
Take for example the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and all of its agencies, especially the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ICE has been spending millions of taxpayers dollars in anti-immigration employment raids. The focus of the ICE’s administration was “illegal immigration” when this agency is also responsible for investigating the smuggling of drugs, money laundering, illegal importation and exportation of weapons of mass destruction and a number of their significant U.S. Customs related criminal laws.
Sources who asked to remain anonymous reported that when an ICE agent presented a good potential drug smulling conspiracy case, his/her immediate ICE supervisor ordered the agent not to open such a case because the emphasis was illegal immigration.
Now recently, another source who wants to remain anonymous reported that an ICE undercover drug smuggling investigation was being conducted somewhere in Texas. During the undercover investigation, ICE agents learned that some family members of U.S. Representative Silvestre Reyes (D-El Paso, TX) were involved. This information has not been confirmed and as such this author considers this “lead” is just a rumor. However, whether the allegation proven to be correct or false, I believe a federal agency, such as the FBI should take a closer look at this allegation.
The ICE agency is well known to retaliate against any employee who talks to the media or contact any other U.S. government agency. The ICE and its Legacy U.S. Customs Service have a long history of protecting its managers, supervisors and top level officials while administering what I call the “capital punishment” (termination) to any low-level ICE special agent who becomes a whistleblower or files an EEO complaint against management.
My hope is that under the new administration under President Barack Obama and DHS’ Secretary-desginee Janet Napolitano, things will change for the better and DHS and ICE and all other agencies under DHS will work freely without being afraid of reporting misconduct and morale will be boosted to a higher plane

Is it legal to sell a Paintball DVD that has short news clips in it from CNN?

I was wanting to incorporate real news footage into the DVD. I will be selling these DVDs. Is using CNN’s news footage in this way illegal without obtaining their permission? Or would putting the footage on a paintball DVD be considered fair use?
